No conditional or uncertainty. “Maddie McCann she’s dead”. German prosecutors wrote to the parents of the missing English girl in Praia de Luz in Portugal in 2007 to tell them that their daughter Maddie is no longer alive. It reports on Daily Mail. Just two days ago the German prosecutor from Braunschweig (Germany) Hans Wolters who investigates the case of the girl had taken a step back on what was initially stated, believing that the child could still be alive after 13 years. “To not kill hopes,” added the prosecutor, adding that there was no evidence, including the dead body, to demonstrate Maddie’s death.
Now, however, it appears to be final, although investigators have refused to disclose to the officers or police of Scotland Yard in Portugal what they discovered, insisting that any further information could jeopardize the investigation into the suspect Christian Brueckner, 43 year old German, with precedents for pedophilia and drugs, sentenced at first instance for the rape of a 72 year old and in prison to Kiel. As early as 2013, in fact, the German police had made the mistake of communicating to the 43-year-old ongoing investigations on him, thus probably giving him the time and the opportunity to make the evidence disappear on his own account. According to the investigators, it was Brueckner, warned by an accomplice who worked in the tourist village where the McCann family was spending the holidays, to take Maddie on the evening of May 3, 2007 left alone with the younger brothers in the apartment.
Support ilfattoquotidiano.it: never like now we need you.
In these weeks of pandemic we journalists, if we do our job with conscience, we do a public service. This is also why we are proud every day here at ilfattoquotidiano.it to offer hundreds of new content for free to all citizens: news, exclusive insights, expert interviews, surveys, videos and much more. All this work, however, has a great economic cost. Advertising, in a time when the economy is stagnant, offers limited revenues. Not in line with the access boom. This is why I ask those who read these lines to support us. To give us a minimum contribution, equal to the price of a cappuccino per week, fundamental for our work.
