Italy-USA: Ambassador Eisenberg visiting the President of the North Adriatic Port System Authority


Rome, 24 Jun 12:15 – (Nova Agency) – The Ambassador of the United States of America, Lewis Michael Eisenberg, visited Monday 22 June, for the second time in a few months, the President of the Port System Authority of the North Adriatic Sea, Pino Musolino. The US embassy in Rome reported it in a statement today. During the meeting, which lasted over an hour, the ambassador – who also held the role of president of the Port authority of New York and New Jersey from 1995 to 2001 – and President Musolino addressed the issues related to the dynamics of global maritime traffic and the consequent need for port and logistic development. Particular attention was also paid to the management of the ongoing health emergency, linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, in ports and to the necessary measures to stimulate commercial and economic recovery. Lastly, the need to strengthen the collaboration between Italy and the United States on the issues of productive and technological innovation was also reiterated, also for the benefit of Venice and the Veneto region, whose port system can host activities with high added value in over 2200 hectares.
