The research, published in recent days by the prestigious American scientific journal PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America), reveals a funerary behavior previously unknown in prehistory: the Paleolithic hunter-gatherers laid their dead in the depths of the earth, inside the depressions created by cave bears when they hibernated.
