Since launching back in 1968, the Hilux has been the world’s best-selling pick up. The latest addition in particular in the Invincible version will be offered with the new 2,800 cc 204 hp turbodiesel engine which will accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 10 seconds, 2.8 seconds faster than the current 2,400 cc diesel unit that it remains in the range, in addition to an average consumption of 7.8 l / 100 km and CO2 emissions of 204 g / km. The Invincible version will be available in the Double Cab version with a choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearboxes combined with the 4-wheel drive. The payload capacity is now 1 tonne, associated with the 3.5 tonne towing capacity which is then extended to all body variants available with 4-wheel drive: Single Cab, Extra Cab and Double Cab.

Inside, quality finishes and a powerful and fast multimedia system
The cockpit features a new instrument cluster style and the 8-inch infotainment screen on the center console which features buttons and knobs that are easy to maneuver in all possible driving conditions. The multimedia system features more powerful and faster software, compatible with Apple CarPlay than Android Auto. On board, the reception is similar to that of a car with accessories such as smart entry and button start, satellite navigation, automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors to which is added a JBL Premium audio system to 9 800W speakers with an 8-channel amplifier and CLARi-Fi technology.

Specific options combined with a basic technique that has been renewed
Options to customize the Hilux 2020 include resin roll-bars, tonneau covers and hardtops. Suspension and power steering have also been optimized. Specifically, on-road and off-road driveability makes use of the development of the front and rear shock absorbers, as well as the new design of the leaf springs and bushings. The result is that driving is smoother with more effective damping on depressions and potholes. An electronic function is available which replicates the effect of a mechanical self-locking device for two-wheel drive models which simulates the lowering of the minimum speed from 850 to 680 rpm and which consequently adapts the response of the accelerator to ensure better control of the medium on all terrains.

Fernando Alonso was among the first to drive the new Hilux Invincible
One of the first testers of the new Hilux in a demanding gravel and earth course designed for rally cars was the former Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso who then spoke about it. “The Hilux is an icon and I’ve always been a fan of this car. The first consideration that came spontaneously to me driving in the new Hilux and that it is a truly spectacular vehicle. It was also nice to drive the new pick-up in a very difficult environment, as only a rally stage can be seen as it allows you to push the car to the limit. The 2.8-liter diesel engine performed very well and the new suspension is really interesting. In any case, even if you push it to the limit, comfort is always good. I really think the new Hilux is an invincible medium ”.
