All non-essential businesses will close on Tuesday and most schools will close on Thursday. Furthermore, there will be no easing of measures, expected across England from 6 July, which will allow, among other things, the reopening of pubs and restaurants. Speaking in the House of Commons, Hancock recommended that the inhabitants of Leicester should stay at home as much as possible to avoid further infection. The City Council of Leicester has announced that 3,216 cases of contagion have been detected in the city since the beginning of the epidemic, of which 944 cases only in the last two weeks.
