This is because the next month there will be payment – expected from around 3.5 million pensioners – of the fourteenth on pensions, thanks to which the amount of the check can increase by a maximum of 655.00 €.
It is article 5 of law decree 81/2007 to provide for the payment of the fourteenth also for some categories of pensioners and to dictate the requirements to benefit from it and to calculate the amount. Unlike what happens for workers, where the fourteenth (when it’s up) is calculated on the basis of the remuneration received, for pensions the amount is established by law and varies according to three different factors:
- pensioner’s income;
- years of contributions;
- membership social security fund.
As anticipated, depending on the existing conditions, the fourteenth has an amount that can vary from € 336.00 to € 655.00: let’s see in more detail what the rules are, so we can give you an idea of what you are entitled to.
