Germany: Seehofer visits Stuttgart today after unrest – the last hour

(ANSA) – BERLIN, JUNE 22 – The interior minister
German Horst Seehofer will visit Stuttgart late in the morning
after the riots of the night between Saturday and Sunday have
led to the arrest of 24 people and the injury of 19
policemen. This was announced by the Interior Minister of the
Baden-Wuerttemberg Thomas Strobl.

On Saturday night the Stuttgart police, with 280
agents, has faced 400-500 young men who
they set the center of the city on fire, destroying
shop windows and attacking law enforcement. According to the
rebuilding of the authorities unrest would not be motivated
for political reasons. The protagonists are quite part
the environment of discos and clubs, which have been closed a
cause of the coronavirus pandemic. The police asked for help
citizenship to have testimonials through videos and
photo.

The extreme violence of the attacks is a novelty
also for the authorities: “the attacks we experienced in the
Stuttgart nights have been of a type never experienced before in
Baden-Wuerttemberg “said the Minister of the Interior of the Land,
