Erica Fava

After a sporting and school season at Maize South High School in Wichita, United States, the federal state of Kansas, Volleyball St. George announces with great pleasure the return of the crusher Erica Fava

173 cm tall reinforces the offensive department of the 4 places of the team of coach Matteo Capra and Emanuele Piccoli which has seen the confirmation of the lift Micaela Perini and the opposite Alyssa Hodzic.

Born in Piacenza, June 10, 2002, she starts in the mini-trolley at the San Nicol polisportiva with Stefano Bastiani; raised in the youth team of Libertas San Paolo under the guidance of coach Paola Tonna and Matteo Capra; in 2015 he won second place at the Provincial Trophy held in Cesenatico with the Piacenza Territorial Selection team while the following year, always in Cesenatico, he won the event.

The next championship made its debut at Libertas San Paolo and in 2017 switched to Volleyball Pontenure in Serie D and participated in training in the Women’s Regional Selection for the Trophy of the Regions and in the same year participated in a training course at the Federal Center Pavesi in Milan in the presence by coach Marco Mencarelli and Luciano Pedull. At the end of the season will be promotion to Serie C.

In 2018 he landed at Pallavolo Sangiorgio in Serie C and with coach Matteo Capra he won the promotion in Serie B2, at the end of the playoffs, making an important contribution to the Giallobl team. The following season Erica decides to spend a year of study in the United States, precisely in Wichita, in the state of Kansas, where she played in the Mavericks of Maize South High School. The adventure with stars and stripes ended prematurely, due to the pandemic of the covid-19, he returns to Italy and agrees to return to the Volleyball Sangiorgio to face his first B2 series national championship, the second consecutive of the company of President Giuseppe Vincini.

A curiosity is volleyball, the family sport in the Fava house. His mother, Monica Lena, was a good player (series B) and the assistant coach of Capra in the year of promotion in B2, her father Marco, a former player, current head of the Fipav Piacenza competition commission, while her older sister Francesca, role central, last season was the strong point of the Green Warriors Sassuolo in series A2, new purchase of Bosca San Bernardo Cuneo in A1.

“I am happy – says coach Matteo Capra – that returning from America has chosen to return to us and face the adventure in B2. Erica has always had great potential and was the architect of important victories that we had both in Serie D and in Serie C in the past seasons. She is a girl I have seen growing, my wife also has potential and I have a huge esteem for her. She comes from the American experience and I am convinced that she will want to demonstrate a lot in the new season “.

“I am convinced – explains Erica – that following the instructions of coach Capra I can grow further. On my return to Italy he always thought of Volleyball Sangiorgio as the first choice, the B2 will be a new championship and he will discover it only by playing”.

Welcome back Erica!
