(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, JUNE 7 – In the wake of protests against
the violent police and the ‘Defund the Police’ campaign, the
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has promised to cut one
part of the funds destined for the New York Police Department and of
to allocate them to youth services and social services. A
unprecedented move in the Big Apple which – assured de
Blasio – will be implemented within three weeks.
The New York Police Department has an annual budget
of 6 billion dollars.
