This is the hypothesis of Zhang Yong, deputy director of the Chinese disease control and prevention center. In a contribution to the CCP’s Anti-Corruption Central Commission for Inspection and Discipline site, Zhang notes that “a large number of samples taken at Xinfadi indicate that the virus had been there for some time.”

Worldwide coronavirus cases crossed the 8.5 million mark this morning: this is what emerges from the Johns Hopkins University count. IRAN – The number of Covid-19 cases in Iran has risen to 200,262, with 2,615 infections in the last 24 hours, substantially stable compared to the past few days: the spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Lari, announced. There are 120 new victims, for the fifth day above one hundred in the last week, with a total of 9,392 deaths confirmed since the start of the pandemic. ICU patients increase to 2,833, the recovered patients grow to 159,192. The overall tests carried out are 1,370,718. Lari has confirmed that currently the “red” provinces, that is considered high risk, are Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Kurdistan, Bushehr, Western Azerbaijan and the Iranshahr area in Sistan and Baluchistan.

RUSSIA – There are 7,972 new cases of Covid-19 registered in Russia in the last 24 hours, thus the total number of infections in the country rises to 569,063. This was reported by the Russian anticoronavirus operations center. According to official data, the deaths caused by the new virus were 181 during the last day and 7,841 in total. There have been 10,443 healed in the last 24 hours and 324,406 in all.

UK – The Covid alert level in the United Kingdom has been lowered from 4 to 3. Local media reported, specifying that the indication was provided by the medical authorities of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Level 4 represents an increasing level of transmission of the infection. With level 3 the virus is considered simply in “circulation” and there may be a gradual removal of the restrictions.
