Coronavirus, still a positive case in Tuscany. The infections decrease but they do not go away

They drop but they do not reset. Positive cases of Coronavirus in Tuscany continue to occur, albeit more and more sporadically. The Region’s daily bulletin talks about a new case and 3 deaths. In total therefore there are 10,145 cases of positivity to Coronavirus. The new cases are 0.01% more than the total of the previous day. The healed grow by 1.1% and reach 8,440 (83.2% of the total cases). The swabs performed reached 277.092, 3.386 more than yesterday, those analyzed today are 3,095. The currently positive are 628 today, -12.9% compared to yesterday. They register 3 new deaths: 3 women, with an average age of 89.3 years.

These are the data – ascertained at 12 noon today on the basis of the requests of the National Civil Protection – relating to the trend of the epidemic in the region.

Below are the cases of positivity in the area with the change compared to yesterday; these refer not to the province of residence, but to that in which the diagnosis was made. There are 3,486 cases in Florence today (1 more than yesterday), 568 in Prato, 678 in Pistoia, 1,050 in Massa Carrara, 1,364 in Lucca, 896 in Pisa, 557 in Livorno, 678 in Arezzo, 441 in Siena, 427 in Grosseto. One more, therefore, the case found today in the ASL Centro. None in the North West and South East Asl.

Tuscany confirms its 10th place in Italy as number of cases, with around 272 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average around 390 x100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Massa Carrara with 539 cases x100,000 inhabitants, Lucca with 352, Florence with 345, the lowest Siena with 165.

Overall, 565 people are in solitary confinement at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free (minus 86 compared to yesterday, minus 13.2%). There are 3,613 (minus 446 compared to yesterday, minus 11%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance, because they have had contacts with infected people (Asl Centro 1,515, North West 2,030, South East 68).

The number of people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to Covid patients is still reduced, which today is a total of 63, 7 less than yesterday (minus 10%), of which 17 in intensive care (3 less than yesterday, minus 15%). It is the lowest point since 7 March 2020 for total hospitalizations and from 9 March 2020 for intensive care.

The total number of people recovered rose to 8,440 (91 more than yesterday, plus 1.1%): 769 people “clinically healed” (plus 9 compared to yesterday, plus 1.2%), that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting associated clinical manifestations infection and 7,671 (more 82 than yesterday, plus 1.1%) declared cured in all respects, the so-called viral healings, with double negative buffer.

There are 3 new deaths: 3 women, with an average age of 89.3 years. With regard to the province of notification, the deceased are: 2 in Florence, 1 in Siena. 1,077 have died since the beginning of the epidemic divided as follows: 394 in Florence, 48 in Prato, 80 in Pistoia, 161 in Massa Carrara, 136 in Lucca, 89 in Pisa, 61 in Livorno, 46 in Arezzo, 31 in Siena, 23 in Grosseto, 8 people died on Tuscan soil, but they were residents outside the region.

The raw Tuscan mortality rate (number of deceased / resident population) for Covid-19 is 28.9 x100,000 residents against 56.3 x100,000 of the Italian average (11th region). As for the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (82.6 x100,000), Florence (39.0 x100,000) and Lucca (35.1 x100,000), the lowest at Grosseto (10.4 x100,000).
