Coronavirus in the world: infections, updates and all the news on the situation

Florida and Texas are now the new epicenters of the pandemic in the United States, the country most affected by the coronavirus in the world, with almost 2.2 million infected, an average daily increase of 20,000 cases and more than 118,000 deaths. In both states in the last 24 hours the record of new daily cases has been recorded since the coronavirus spread: 3,516 in Texas, where the infections are now close to 100 thousand, and 3,207 in Florida, with a total of almost 86 thousand contagions.

Trump admits: “In Tulsa some of my fans could get infected”

A “small percentage” of fans at Donald Trump’s rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, could get infected. It is the President of the United States himself to admit it, while outside the arena of the Bok Center many supporters are already massed waiting for the event tomorrow evening where at least 100 thousand people are expected. Many fear the “perfect storm”. In Tulsa, in fact, in the last week there has been an average of over 200 new cases of coronavirus per day, with a jump of 110% compared to the previous week. There are currently 1,825 infections in the city, more than any other county in the state. Trump’s rally, the first since the beginning of the coronavirus emergency, has raised many controversies in the city of Olkahoma precisely because of the risk of accelerating the epidemic.

Usa, ten states under observation for the increase in Covid-19 cases

Ten U.S. states peaked this week and one could become the new epicenter of the epidemic. California, Arizona and Florida are the three states with the record of cases in the last 24 hours, while Texas has become the sixth in numbers of cases, which have exceeded one hundred thousand. The red alert has also gone off in other areas of the country: data on the rise in Alabama, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon and South Carolina. The total number of cases rose to two million 185 thousand, with an average daily increase of 20 thousand. The dead are 118,334. California Governor Gavin Newsom ordered citizens to wear the mask both indoors and outdoors in the presence of other people. There were over 4,000 new cases on Wednesday, a record. Arizona also recorded its highest peak with 2,519 cases, after 2,392 on Tuesday. But it is the situation in Florida that causes the greatest alarm: in the southern state there have been 3,207 new cases that have brought the total bill to 86 thousand. The mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez, is “extremely worried”: “We will do everything – he commented – to prevent the city from becoming the new hotbed of America”. According to researchers from the University of Pennsylvania, Florida has “all the signs to be the next epicenter”: from Tampa to Orlando to Miami County, there is a steady surge in hospitalizations.

Usa, New York sees Phase 2: today it is decided whether to reopen on Monday

New York is preparing for phase 2 of the reopening on Monday after being the epicenter of the pandemic in the United States. The announcement of the governor of the state Andrew Cuomo and the mayor Bill de Blasio is expected in the hours. Restaurants, shops and other businesses should start again. The return to normal, however, remains far, as evidenced by the announcement of Carnegie Hall, the New York City Ballet and Lincoln Center to cancel the entire autumn season.
