MADRID. The head of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez, will ask for an extension of the state of alarm for the coronavirus epidemic until 21 June. Sanchez himself confirmed this by meeting the governors of the country’s 17 autonomous communities in a video conference, to take stock of the movements within the country. From tomorrow, Monday, the Comunidad Valenciana and the provinces of Malaga, Granada, Toledo, Ciudad Real and Albacete will join the other areas of the country that are in Phase 2: third stage of the lockout. The Comunidad de Madrid, most of Castilla y Leon, the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona and Lerida will remain in Phase 1. From tomorrow 70% of the Spaniards will be in Phase 2, while the islands of La Gomera, El Hierro, La Graciosa (Canary Islands) and Formentera (Balearic Islands) will enter Phase 3, the last stage before returning to normal.
