The magic of Red lantern, one of the places in the heart of the port and the city of Ancona, known and admired throughout the region. From Saturday 13 June, by an order of the President of the System Authority
port, it will again be possible to return to travel the complete walk of Porto Antico up to the tip of the north pier from where you can enjoy a unique view of the Adriatic Sea. The use of the walkway, up to the Lanterna, completes the picture of the reopening of the route of the Porto Antico already available up to the Pilot Tower from 7 May after the health emergency for the coronavirus. A new symbolic passage towards normality, while respecting all the indications of prevention of Covid 19 and social distancing. «It is another small step towards normality that we all hope for, despite the obligation to enjoy it in a manner
responsible for this as for every other place – says Ida Simonella, the councilor of the Port of Ancona -, yet the reopening of the Lantern today seems almost the re-conquest of a suggestive space loved by everyone ».
“It is a joy to be able to reclaim, as a city and port community, the entire promenade of the Porto Antico, which connects the center of Ancona with the sea of the Passetto and with the sea of the port up to the red lantern – the comment of the President of the Authority of the port system, Rodolfo Giampieri -, a possibility that must be enjoyed with the utmost sense of responsibility on the part of everyone so that these weeks can bring us closer and closer to returning to a normal life ».
