(ANSA) – RIO DE JANEIRO, JUNE 22 – Brazil has announced that it has passed the threshold of 50 thousand deaths from the coronavirus epidemic. With about one million infections, it is confirmed as the second country most affected by the pandemic in the world after the United States, which has about 120 thousand deaths and over 2.2 million cases. The Ministry of Health has recorded 641 new deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the toll to 50,617, while the infections have risen to 1,085,038, almost half of the whole of Latin America, which has reached 2,048,891. The continental trend appears substantially stable, while the contagion curve in Brazil shows signs of slowing down, to be verified in the coming days. However, it remains the second most affected country in the world after the United States.
