The legendary road trip in the magic of silence
The magic of silence aboard an electric car is now added to the suggestions of one of the most dreamed journeys ever. A new mode that allows you to enjoy the landscape by taking new suggestions. Not to mention the environmental aspect. The route crosses the United States along interstates 15 and 70 which now offer a rapid charging system with powers up to 350 kW. “To guarantee owners of electric vehicles the opportunity to travel across the country, the charging stations are located on average about 70 miles away from each other”, cites the note from Electrify America, underlining that the columns are located near metropolitan areas and motorway routes, near areas served by shops and restaurants.
This creates a feeling of confidence in electric mobility
“Electrify America’s primary goal has always been to support the adoption of electric vehicles in the United States, and this is only possible by creating a feeling of trust and freedom in those who choose this kind of mobility, “he said Anthony Lambkin, director of operations of Electrify America. “The completion of our first electrified route is a significant step towards this goal: by transforming long-distance travel into a reality even for electric travelers, we hope to encourage an ever greater adoption of zero-emission vehicles”.
From East to West Coast without emissions
The coast to coast from Los Angeles, California to Washington is just one of two routes that cross the US. Electrify America has indeed announced that by the end of the summer it will be possible to travel by electric also through the southern part of the United States, from Jacksonville to San Diego. The operator actually already offers an electrified route covering much of the East Coast through interstate 95 from Portland to Miami, Florida, which adds to the already completed route from the West Coast along interstate 5 from Seattle to San Diego. . To date, Electrify America has installed 435 already operational charging stations in the United States with over 1,900 fast charge columns and another 100 are under construction. “Of the already completed charging stations,” reads a note, “over 300 are located near the main highways to make electric travel faster and more efficient.” In 2019 alone, Electrify America opened DC fast charging stations in the States at a rate of around 1.2 per day.
