NEW TURBODIESEL 2.0 – As for the engines, Audi has announced only the version Q5 40 TDI, which mounts a new turbodiesel engine 4-cylinder 2.0: it has 204 HP and 400 Nm, is Euro 6d approved and adopts a new aluminum base (lighter than 40 kg) and a renewed crankshaft (saves 2.5 kg). It also makes use of the light hybrid, consisting of an alternator with starter function (called RSG): in slowdowns, it is dragged by the heat engine (to which it is connected via a belt) and generates up to 5 kW of electricity , storing it inside a 12 volt battery; this feeds the integrated services to the onboard network. The RSG also optimizes the Stop & Start function when the car stops at the traffic lights or in the queue, with restarts they are faster and with less vibration; moreover, it allows the 4-cylinder to switch off and on again in the “sailing” phase starting from 22 km / h (ie when driving by inertia without the engine “running”). All this to improve the mileage, equal to 15.9 km / l.
