After the first meeting, dedicated to Aldo Moro, on Friday June 26th at 8.45 pm it will be Robert Kennedy’s turn. Robert Kennedy, better known as “Bob”, was the brother of the President of the United States John Fitzgerald Kennedy, of which he was the equivalent of our Minister of Justice. After the death of his brother, killed in an attack in Dallas in 1963, he continued his political work, but he was also killed in an attack in 1968.

“Over fifty years have passed since the day Robert Kennedy was killed while on the run to become the President of the United States of America.” Federico Gusmeroli, coordinator of the dem circle of the Lower Valley, recalled. “However, his thinking is more relevant today than ever: we think only of the strong criticism of GDP as a tool for measuring well-being and the fight against racial violence in the United States. Although much less known in Italy than his brother John, his ideas can be of great stimulus even today. ”

“We believe it is useful and stimulating for everyone to deepen the thought and life of Bob Kennedy.” Said Andrea Nogara, secretary of the PD Bellano-Dervio club. “During the meeting we will try to update – also in light of the recent news events that have stirred great protests in the USA and in the world after the killing of two African Americans by the American police – the work of Bob Kennedy in the fight against discrimination and full racial integration. ”

The guest of the evening will be Alberto Mattioli: journalist, former vice president of the Province of Milan, he is the author, together with Mauro Colombo, of the book “Bob’s word”, where he retraces the life and speeches of Bob Kennedy. The meeting will be broadcast live on the facebook pages of the clubs starting at 8.45 pm on Friday 26 June and will also be available in the following days, always on the facebook pages, even to those who are not registered on the social network.
