Xiaomi Mi Band 5, first images and official price: how much it costs


Not a day goes by without an indiscretion on the Mi Band 5, the new Xiaomi smart band that should make its debut in the coming months. It had been rumored in the past few weeks that the debut would be postponed to September-October due to the coronavirus, but in the last few hours there have appeared real device images on Weibo (a social network widely used in China) which lead to the hypothesis of an imminent arrival of the Mi Band 5.

The images also serve to confirm what was already known and had been leaked in the previous weeks: the design of the activity tracker will remain the same, but the screen size will be larger, reaching up to 1.2 inches. A larger display and in color will allow users to have even more information at their fingertips and to know their health level and how their training is going at all times. Interesting news also regarding the price: in China it should be launched in about 199 yuan, A little bit more than 25 euros at the current exchange rate. Likely that with the arrival in Italy on price stands at 40 euros.

What will Mi Band 5 be like?

There are many rumors released in the last few weeks on the Mi Band 5. By now we know most of features of the Xiaomi smart bracelet: the color screen will cover almost the entire front surface and there will be many functions to monitor your training and health status, such as the sensor to measure your blood saturation. Those who hoped to use the Mi Band 5 to make digital payments will be disappointed: the NFC will not be integrated in the European version of the device, but only in the Chinese one.

There are also rumors of support for Alexa voice assistant to manage smart devices in the home from one’s wrist. If this were really so, it would be a big step forward for the Mi Band 5.

Last year the Mi Band 4 was presented in June and in the initial plans of Xiaomi also the Mi Band 5 was due to debut in the same month.
