Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition debuts directly at first place in UK sales rankings as for the past week, with the remake of the Wii game on Nintendo Switch which finally manages to unseat Animal Crossing: New Horizons from the top after three consecutive weeks.
Recall that the data provided by GfK for the British market only concern software sold in a box, therefore it does not consider digital games and sales via download. The first place debut of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition means that Animal Crossing: New Horizons move to second position, followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and the usual GTA 5 and FIFA 20.
In the top ten, for the rest, we report the return to the ranking of Days Gone and The Last of Us: Remastered which have probably obtained a significant boost from the recent discount initiative with the Days of Play.
For the rest, the other news of the week in the retail sector were the 2K titles for Nintendo Switch such as Borderlands: Legendary Collection and BioShock: The Collection (with XCOM Collection only digitally, at least for the moment) but they all ended up outside of the weekly top ten.
So let’s see the top ten of the best-selling games in the UK in retail format, for the week just ended:
- Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Grand Theft Auto V
- FIFA 20
- Days Gone
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- The Last of Us: Remastered
- PlayStation VR Worlds
