Good news in today’s bulletin, Friday 22 May, on the coronavirus emergency numbers. The people who are currently positive at Covid-19 are in fact returning below 60 thousand, given that it has not been seen since 25 March. This is despite a new increase in swabs. Deaths also drop, but remain above 100 per day, becoming 130 (156 yesterday) for a total of 32,616 victims. The number of new cases has remained stable: 652 new positives have been recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total in our country to 228,658.
It is 10 cases more than yesterday’s figure. On the other hand, the overall number of those discharged and healed rises to 136,720 with an increase of 2,160 people compared to yesterday. Of the currently positive, 595 are undergoing intensive care, 45 fewer patients than yesterday; while 8,957 people are hospitalized with symptoms, with a decrease of 312 patients. As for the number of total swabs made, it reaches 3,318,778, 75,380 in the last 24 hours, an increase compared to the previous day when it had been 71,679. On the other hand, 2,121,847 people are tested.
