Virus, bulletin: the infections collapse, but 111 dead. One positive for every 166 swabs, given at lows


Total cases of coronaviruses increased by 416 in Italy according to the latest bulletin issued by the Civil Protection. For now, the data relating to the Abruzzo Region are missing and have not been received. The total number of infections since the beginning of the epidemic reaches 232,664: in further cases compared to the last few days the currently positive ones, which drop by 2,484 units: they are 43,691. The healed also increased, 155,633 (+2,789 compared to yesterday) but unfortunately deaths also increased slightly: 33,340 in total, 111 more than yesterday.

In Lombardy there are 221 more infected (yesterday 354), equal to 53.1% of today’s increase in Italy. The data were disclosed by the Civil Protection. There are 6 regions with zero contagions: Abruzzo, Umbria, Sardinia, Molise, Calabria and Basilicata.

One positive for every 166 swabs. In Italy in the last 24 hours 69,342 swabs have been made for coronavirus, according to the data of the Civil Protection. The ratio between tests done and identified cases is 1 infected for every 166.7 swabs, 0.6%, the lowest figure since the beginning of the epidemic. A positive for every 87 people, or 1.2% instead, if we consider only the new cases tested, excluding control swabs on subjects already tested.

Among the currently positive, 450 are undergoing intensive care, with a decrease of 25 patients compared to yesterday. In 6,680 they are hospitalized with symptoms, with a decrease of 414 patients compared to yesterday. 84% of the currently positive, 36,561 people, are in isolation without symptoms or with mild symptoms.

In detail, the currently positive cases are 21,809 in Lombardy, 5,290 in Piedmont, 3,279 in Emilia-Romagna, 1,612 in Veneto, 1,166 in Tuscany, 781 in Liguria, 3,055 in Lazio, 1,347 in the Marche, 981 in Campania, 1,222 in Puglia, 366 in the Autonomous Province of Trento, 999 in Sicily, 305 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 770 in Abruzzo *, 137 in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, 31 in Umbria, 186 in Sardinia, 17 in Valle d’Aosta, 151 in Calabria, 156 in Molise and 31 in Basilicata.
