The first photo was taken a month before Mike contracted the virus, the second – in which he appears tried and very thin – after a month and a half of hospitalization, including 30 days of intubation.

“I wanted to show everyone how hard it can be to be intubated for weeks. The coronavirus has reduced my lung capacity, but now I get stronger every day. I’ll be back the same as before,” the man wrote on Instagram.

“I thought I was young enough to get away with it, and I know a lot of people think the same thing. With my post I wanted to show that it can happen to everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old or if you have pre-existing medical conditions, it can still hit you, “Schultz said to BuzzFeed.
