Ultralight plane crashes near Rome, pilot and passenger charred dead

Two deaths in the ultralight plane crashed in flames this morning between Nettuno and Latina in the Grugnole area. The three-axle two-seater single-engine aircraft took off just before the Ali, Neptune airfield, which was also widely used by paratroopers.

The low-wing plane crashed between via Grugnole and via Acciarella, near the lake used as a point of reference by boaters pilots in the area. The investigations are entrusted to the carabinieri of Anzio and Nettuno. Witnesses reported seeing flames coming out of the engine compartment while the aircraft crashed near the Crazy Fly parachuting school in via Grugnole, more close to the coast than the airfield.
