Reopenings, divided governors. Zaia: «Nice Signal». De Luca says no

Amid doubts and possibilities, the governors of the Italian regions are preparing to reopen their “borders” from June 3rd. Barring peaks of new infections, from next Wednesday it will be possible to return to travel, despite the doubts expressed in recent days by some regional presidents. Even the so-called health “passports” have been discarded, “it’s time to reopen the country”, as the governor of Puglia, Michele Emiliano said today. The mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, speaks of a “right decision”, pointing out that “now is the time to give oxygen back to work”. The front in favor of the reopenings also counts the president of Liguria, Giovanni Toti, who has defined the government’s “wise decision” to give the go-ahead for travel between regions without distinction. “I think there are conditions and that they are calculated risks,” he stressed.

Phase 2 and reopening 3 June, De Luca challenges and Sardinia insists: a health passport is needed
De Luca: «We don’t understand generalized openness». In Campania no dead and 15 recovered
Zaia: «Reopening all together is a good sign. From Greece reprehensible behavior »

The governor of Veneto, Luca Zaia, that of Emilia-Romagna, Stefano Bonaccini, and that of Calabria, Jole Santelli, who also proposed a Calabrian dinner with Northern governors to ease the political controversy of the past few days. The president of Sardinia, Christian Solinas, heads the no front, which mainly includes the southern regions. The “health passport”, which he so strongly supported, does not seem to be an applicable measure, especially after the criticisms of the minister Francesco Boccia who called it an “unconstitutional” measure. In fact, a similar initiative has already been set aside by Sicily, which is therefore preparing for reopening, even if the ordinance prohibiting travel to other regions until June 7 is still in force.

Among the most critical are Campania and Tuscany which, according to the voice of their governors, Vincenzo De Luca and Enrico Rossi, do not hide the “Lombardia case”. “If there are situations in regions where the level of infection is still higher, taking them into account is not wrong,” said Rossi. More direct, as always, De Luca. “In the presence of high infections, it is obvious that there must be limits to mobility in an area,” he said. Caution by the Lazio Region. “There are too many pressures to start the North again, we have to rely on scientific evidence,” explained the Councilor for Health, Alessio D’Amato.
