Today is celebrated Pope Paul VI

Today we celebrate St. Paul VI Pope. Giovanni Battista Montini (1897-1978) was from Brescia canonized on October 14, 2018. Once elected pope, on June 21, 1963, he undertakes a gradual but constant implementation of reforms drawn up by the Second Vatican Council, with particular attention to the liturgical one which will lead, for example, to the celebration of Mass no longer in Latin, but in national languages.

The first Mass in Italian is celebrated by Paul VI himself, on March 7, 1965, in the Roman parish of Ognissanti. Like the apostle Paul, also Pope Montini he makes many pastoral journeys, wanting to meet the Christians of the various continents.

The following are also celebrated: blessed Giuseppe Gerard, priest; Saint Esichio of Antioch, martyr; Saint Sisinnio, protomartire.
