THE LOUDEST VOICE – SEX AND POWER is the faithful adaptation of the best-seller of Gabriel Sherman (who personally signed two episodes of the series) The Loudest Voice in the Room, who starting from the testimonies of more than 600 people has nailed Ailes, capable of modeling an information giant like Fox News with such effectiveness that he ended up shaping the American political conversation at the highest levels, to a sexual scandal that has overwhelmed his career and reputation forever.
Cast and characters
An unrecognizable Russell Crowe, with many extra pounds and almost completely bald, plays the powerful chairman of the American all news channel, de facto leader of the conservatives and media consultant of all the last Republican Presidents of the United States of America, from Nixon to Reagan until the same Donald Trump. Naomi Watts instead he takes the role of Gretchen CarlsonFox News anchorwoman dismissed from the channel in 2016 after filing a sexual harassment suit against Ailes first. The woman, her proud accuser and one of the first champions of the movement #MeToo, was the leader of a long series of victims, more than twenty, of Ailes’ unwanted attentions.
In the cast too Sienna Miller (Lost Civilization, American Sniper) who plays Elizabeth, the wife of the Mughal, and Seth MacFarlane (Ted, The Logan Scam) as Brian Lewis, Ailes’ former right-hand man in charge of the channel’s PR. It’s still Simon McBurney (The theory of everything) is the tycoon Rupert Murdoch, Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders) plays the role of one of the accusers, Laurie Luhn, accountant for Fox News, and Aleksa Palladino (Boardwalk Empire) will instead be the historical assistant of Ailes Judy Laterza.
