According to Bloomberg’s always well-informed Jason Schreier, Sony had a crazy fear of potential leaks regarding thepresentation event of SS5. He had it to the point of not having anticipated the date to anyone, not even to those involved.
This is what at least two have told Schreier developers with games that will be present at the event, which obviously wanted to remain anonymous (they are definitely under NDA, so it is normal that it is so ed).
Leaks are highly feared in the industry, because they end up ruining presentations and announcements that are planned months in advance and built with certain objectives in mind. In particular the presentation of a new console it could be quite dampened in its effectiveness if all that will be shown was known first.
However the PS5 presentation date is now known: June 4th at 22:00. From that moment on we will finally get to know the new console of the Japanese giant and the first games with which we will be able to use it, so as to put an end to most of the rumors and finally be able to talk about something concrete.
Fun fact: Sony was so paranoid of leaks (and / or things were so constantly in flux) that at least two developers who will actually be presenting at next week’s PS5 event told me they weren’t given any date at all
