The Committee’s report on safety measures for children returning to school in September emphasizes other measures rather than aiming for distance and masks.
For children in kindergarten, it will be particularly critical to maintain physical distancing: special organizational and behavioral precautions must be applied to school staff.
Personal and space hygiene
For the Committee it is necessary to increase the regular cleaning of the surfaces, the frequent washing of the hands; it is necessary to decrease the number of children in the classes, a reduction greater than that to be applied in the upper classes.
Kindergarten children must not wear a mask. It will be the responsibility of the staff to use additional devices (e.g. nitrile gloves and protective devices for eyes, face and mucous membranes) in addition to the usual surgical mask, to protect children.
