Report Iss: 4% of Covid-19 victims had no other conditions

    <p>From the analysis of coronavirus positive patient data, it emerges that about 4 out of 100 deaths <strong>they had no other previous illness</strong> before admission to Covid-19. This was stated by the 'Report on the characteristics of patients who died positive to Sars-Cov-2 infection in Italy' of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, updated on 21 May.

of 3,032 cases for which it was possible to get hold of the medical record, 124 therefore 4.1% of patients did not have pathologies diagnosed before they contracted the infection.

Most of the Covid-19 deceased whose previous conditions are known had 3 or more conditions. It is about 59.6%or 1,806 patients. The disease presented two pathologies 21.4% of the sample, that is 648 patients. Finally had a pathology the 15%i.e. 454 patients.

Hypertension is confirmed as one of the main risk factors. 23% of deceased patients whose clinical history is known, followed antihypertensive therapy with Ace-Inhibitors and 16% with sartan drugs.

Regarding all the cases taken into consideration, or 31,096 deaths, it was 60% of men and 40% of women, confirming the higher incidence of serious forms of the disease in the male population.

The average age of Covid-19 victims is confirmed to be of 80 years old. However 347 patients were under the age of 50. and 78 under the age of 40. Of the latter, 14 had no previous pathologies.
