The case of George Floyd, the 46-year-old African American, violently blocked on the ground by Minneapolis police leading him to shout “ I can’t breathe and later died in the hospital, ” provoked huge protests in the United States. For the former Golden State NBA Stephen Jackson, however, meant something more: Jackson and Floyd were in fact brotherly friends having grown up together in Texas, as Jackson himself recalled in tears on Instagram. Everyone knows that we called each other “Twin”. He had gone to Minnesota to change his life by driving trucks, I had sent him two or three boxes of clothes, he was doing the right thing. And you killed my brother. Now I’m going to Minneapolis, doing everything I can to keep the story quiet. In another post the 42-year-old recalls that Big Floyd had talent in two sports and the only difference between me and my brother was that I had more chances than he did. The Twin really lived through me.

Unable to take the field, the NBA world used social media to express its protest over what happened in Minneapolis. Two, in particular, made themselves heard: LeBron James posted the video of the episode on his Instagram stories and then published a photo in which they put the image of the policeman kneeling on Floyd’s neck side by side and that of Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the national anthem in protest against police brutality against minorities. All writing: Now you understand !! ?? !! ?? Or are you still confused ?? #StateAllerta. Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr also reposted the video on Twitter by writing This a murder. Disgusting. Seriously, what the hell went wrong with us ????.
