A summer still in doubt: while Greece opens its borders but it imposes some limitations for those coming from four Italian regions, Spain allows tourists to enter but only from July and Croatia wants to book hotels as a guarantee.

To get to Croatia, however, you cannot pass through Slovenia, which for now keeps the borders closed. Austria, on the other hand, is reachable but only for work reasons and with the 14-day quarantine. Switzerland is also closed except for cross-border commuters for business reasons and borders will probably not be able to open until 6 July. France has never actually closed its borders, but for now Italians who want to go on vacation must have a self-certification and declaration of absence of symptoms from Covid-19; travel will be easier from June 15 when the rules come loose. Spain opens up to international tourism from the 1st of July in conditions of maximum safety: Spanish tourism will now have two new fundamental focuses: environmental sustainability and health safety, announced President Pedro Sanchez. From June 8, those who want to travel to Great Britain will have to make a 14-day quarantine, as well as in Belgium, Malta and Ireland. Compulsory isolation for those who go to Poland, but from June 13 restrictions will loosen even if not for Italy, which still remains under observation.

Germany has opened its borders since 15 June without restrictions, but for now it is only traveling for business reasons. Those who want to take a holiday in Cyprus – which from July opens the borders to many countries except Italy – will have to wait for the health emergency to improve. The diplomacies are therefore still at work and pending further openings or closings, it is good to consult the website viaggioiaresicuri.it by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Waiting for EU ministers to meet on 5 June for further discussion, here are the basic rules for traveling this summer.
