Eurocom announced “Nightsky ARX15“, a notebook (or as the company calls it”superlaptop“) which is based on a platform desktop B450 which can host CPUs up to Ryzen 9 3950X with 16 cores and 32 threads and GPUs up to GeForce RTX 2070 8GB. The other options on the processor front are: Ryzen 9 3900X (12C / 24T), Ryzen 7 3800X (8C / 16T), Ryzen 7 3700X (8C / 16T) and Ryzen 5 3600X (6C / 12T). The notebook comes with one 15.6-inch IPS Full HD screen up to 144 Hz, with sRGB coverage up to 90%.
The Nightsky ARX15 is fully configurable, and it is impossible to install SODIMM DDR4-3200 memories up to 64 GB, storage up to 16 TB via three storage drives (two M.2 SSDs and one 2.5-inch hard drive or SSD). The “superlaptop” has a door Gigabit Ethernet and ac Wi-Fi connectivity (you can install a Wi-Fi 6 module), and it is full of doors: one USB 2.0 Type A, three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type A, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type C; a mini DP 1.4, an HDMI 2.0, in a microSD card reader and two 3.5 mm jacks for microphone and headphones.
To offer all these ports and support the hardware with an adequate cooling system, the laptop clearly has bulky dimensions – 361 x 258 x 32.5 mm – and weighs 2.6 kilograms. As for security, there is a fingerprint sensor, a Kensington Lock slot, TMP 2.0 and disk encryption. On board the Nigthsky ARX15 there is one six-cell 62 Wh battery, while as regards the power supply Eurocom offers a 230 watt solution. The laptop has a price starting from 1599 euros and can be purchased with Windows 10 or Ubuntu.
