A study has shown that masks limit virus transmission. It is essential to wear it especially in certain places.
Wearing masks to reduce the possibility of contagion is critical to providing a physical barrier to stem contagions from Covid-19. This is confirmed by a study that the University of California conducted together with Taiwan University and published in the scientific journal from Science. Furthermore, just think that countries like Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea have managed to better contain the proliferation of the virus.

Masks limit transmission of the virus: they also protect against asymptomatics
The World Health Organization has indicated that social distancing and hand washing are used to reduce viral spread based on respiratory droplet studies conducted in the 1930s. When these studies were carried out, there was no technology for detecting diffuse particles via aerosol.
More recent studies have shown that intense coughing and sneezing that spread larger saliva and oozing droplets they can create thousands of aerosol particles that in addition to releasing droplets capable of spreading more than six meters into the air, they would also be able to generate thinner particles (which form the aerosol) taking the virus even further.

The use of masks also serves to protect us from asymptomatics, as experts have explained: “Much of the spread of coronavirus appears to occur through the airborne transmission of aerosols produced by asymptomatic individuals while breathing and speaking. Aerosols can accumulate and remain with their infectious charge in the air in closed spaces for hours and be easily inhaled deep into the lungs“.
A recent study has established that a person who speaks loudly can generate between 1,000 and 100,000 aerosol particles which contain virions or virus particles suspended in the air. All this in one minute of conversation.
Experts claim, that according to new studies, it is almost impossible establish a minimum distance that is effective against the risk of infection. For this reason, according to the authors of the publication lUse of masks is the only way to avoid contagions. Especially in places where high concentrations of viruses can accumulate, such as healthcare facilities, airplanes, restaurants and other crowded places with reduced ventilation.
