Clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement officers in Minneapolis where the situation is explosive after the death of George Floyd, an African American truck driver, during the arrest. The video in which the man immobilized with a knee on the neck by a policeman is seen has gone around the world and rekindled the racial issue in the USA. Thousands went down the street in Minneapolis, many showing signs with the slogan “I can’t breath”, the words Floyd said to the policeman who immobilized him. Law enforcement agencies had to resort to throwing tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowd that had besieged the police station of the four of the agents involved. Everyone has been fired but controversy over the precedents hunted down by the press on at least two of them.
The issue becomes a political battleground. “George Floyd deserved better and his family deserves justice. His life mattered. I am grateful for the swift action in Minneapolis for firing the agents involved, they must be held responsible for their terrible actions. The FBI should conduct an investigation thorough, “Democratic primary candidate Joe Biden wrote on Twitter.
