It’s no mystery that ever since the current U.S. government imposed the ban against Huawei, the Chinese company found itself in difficulty. Before the recent expansion to the supply of processors, the eastern giant had to deal with theinability to access Google services and apps (collected in the Google Mobile Suite). In this perspective, Huawei Mobile Suite (HMS) was created with the aim of propose valid solutions to replace the Mountain View ecosystem.
Today Huawei announced the launch of one collaboration with Dailymotion to build one platform capable of replacing YouTube. The ultimate goal is enhance the current Huawei Video app taking advantage of Dailymotion’s video management and playback structure. In addition, thanks to the use of the same API, the two services will offer the same contents. The collaboration, beyond the technical infrastructure, aims to develop new monetization functions and channels in the near future.

Huawei also announced the launch of the search engine to replace Google. The app had recently entered the test Huawei Search, but now, with the release of the new stable version, the app has been renamed “Petal Search”. As with Google, the application is able to not only search the web, but also to collect news, weather forecasts, videos, music, hotel reservations and apps to download. In addition, Huawei has declared its intention to expand the functionality of the service one step at a time.
