This is how in times of crisis from Covid, which mainly affects small and medium-sized companies, Gucci and Intesa Sanpaolo relaunch an operation, which years ago had paid off, aimed at helping excellent SMEs in the supply chain to access bank credit thanks to the intercession of the brand-client. The advantage is mutual: the strategic supplier finances growth or saves itself from default, the brand does not lose (or strengthen) a fundamental link in the supply chain.

Thanks to this partnership – Gucci and Intesa Sanpaolo announce – the companies that are part of Gucci supply chain they will be able to benefit from the “value” of the head of the supply chain by recognizing advantageous terms and conditions and will be able to access financing quickly». The promise is to speed up access to liquidity and take advantage of facilities usually aimed at large corporate customers.

The agreement covers the entire supply chain of Gucci suppliers, therefore hundreds of companies and laboratories in the leather goods, shoes, accessories, clothing and jewelery sectors that employ over 20 thousand people.
For some time now, Gucci has developed an evaluation system for its suppliers with the financial skills of Intesa Sanpaolo.

The belonging of suppliers to the Gucci chain will be enhanced by the banking group, recognizing – he ensures – important price advantages». The collaboration between the two groups on this ground, moreover, has long since begun. Even in 2013, when Gucci and Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze (Intesa group) entered into the first agreement to share information on the brand’s suppliers and support them in accessing credit.

That experiment was then transformed into the “Supply Chain Development” program launched by Intesa in 2015 and applied to many Made in Italy supply chains.
