Holidays in Greece? Yes it can. The Greek embassy in Italy has published a document on its official website indicating terms and conditions for ‘reopening’ to foreign visitors, including tourists from Italy. “Greece is ready to welcome the world again” is the title of the explanatory document.
But the conditions are not the same for all regions of origin. Tourists arriving from Lombardy, Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto Athens will be tested on arrival. However, our 4 regions are not the only ones to receive this ‘treatment’. In fact, Belgium, the Paris area in France, a significant portion of Holland, Lisbon in Portugal are also on the list. There Phase 1 provides that “until June 15 International flights are only allowed at Athens airport. All visitors upon arrival will be tested and will have to spend the night in a designated hotel. Phase 3 opens on July 1st. “International flights are allowed at all Greek airports. Visitors are subjected to random tests on arrival. Further restrictions on some countries will be announced at a later date. Also: Arrivals at land borders from Albania, Macedonia North and Bulgaria will be allowed from June 15.
