(ANSA) – MODENA, MAY 28 – The online fashion group Yoox Net-a-porter bets on new technologies and together with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Unimore) creates a laboratory dedicated to artificial intelligence and computer vision ‘applied in the field of fashion. In addition, through the same university, the group will participate in the Folding @ Home project which allows citizens and companies to “donate” their computing capacity to the scientific community for projects related to research on Covid-19.
Yoox Net-a-porter’s three-year collaboration with AlmageLab, Unimore’s artificial intelligence research center, has led to a research program that will be led by Rita Cucchiara, director of the National Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence. The research will focus primarily on the ‘Visual Search’, the search for images, and on the ‘Virtual Try-On’, to improve the virtual trial experience of the garments.
