The FIA World Council has approved important regulatory changes both for the 2020 Formula 1 season, which will, if all is confirmed, start on July 5 in Austria, and for the following one, mainly aimed at reducing the costs of the teams. The important and fundamental collaboration between teams, certainly favored by the current economic health crisis, has allowed the agreements ratified on Wednesday to be reached in unthinkable times for F1, after they had been approved in recent weeks by the technical, sports and financial working groups and ultimately by the various teams before moving on to the Strategy Group, the F1 Commission and then, today, to the World Council. The intelligent choice of the FIA to modify its international sports code is crucial, introducing a real safeguard clause a few weeks ago that replaced the word unanimity with a majority in the votes to make immediate changes to the regulations (sports and technical).
