Luca Napolitano, head of the brand in the Europe-Middle East-Africa area, returns to answer questions from users on the new electric Fiat 500.
The approach march continues for the debut of the electric Fiat 500. The presentation of the launch edition, “La Prima”, last March represents the prelude to arrive in July to complete the range. The electric 500, which in the plans of the Turin house should arrive on the market in the second half of 2020, is expected to be revealed in streaming on July 4th, the same date on which the first generation of the city car was introduced to revolutionize urban mobility.
However, fans can begin to familiarize themselves with the new electric 500. Fiat has indeed posted a new video, like the one released a few weeks ago, with Luca Napolitano, number one of the Fiat brand for the Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA) area.
In the business plan, Fiat plans to produce them six thousand specimens in Mirafiori in November, for a total of 15 thousand units by the end of 2020. The following year, the company plans to push on 60-70 cars, and reach the target of 80 thousand units in 2022.

In the video, Napolitano also referred to a prospect Abarth variant, which at the moment is only a compelling hypothesis for enthusiasts and for Fiat, which produces 20,000 Abarth 595 a year. The electric variant, with the new engine, should keep it same sporting spirit, energetic, of the other models in the range. Although, at least initially, production volumes may be more contained.
The decision to talk about it could represent a partial confirmation of the intentions of the House and the rumors that the Abarth electric 500 could arrive on the market in 2021 or 2022.
Napolitano also explained i details of the new multimedia system for infotainment available on the new car and confirmed that there will be over 120,000 charging points throughout Europe. The first examples of the new electric 500, with an expected base price of around € 25,000, should be delivered starting in November.
