data after reopening on 18

Here are the “report cards” of the Regions on the situation Coronavirus, those that basically decide the reopening of the borders. In almost all Regions, the transmissibility indices Rt are below 1 and the trend of new cases is decreasing. The result of the monitoring conducted by the Ministry of Health e Iss relating to the period of the further reopenings of commercial activities since May 18 records a «encouraging trendSaid Minister Speranza. Monitoring takes into account 21 indicators, including the contagiousness index rt, but also the parameters of the health system, starting from intensive care.

«The monitoring data is encouraging. The major sacrifices of lockdown have produced these results. We must continue on the road taken gradually and cautiously, “said Health Minister Roberto Speranza. At present, critical situations relating to the Covid-19 epidemic are not reported in Italy. This is in summary the result of the monitoring.

These are the main results of the monitoring
• The weekly incidence remains very heterogeneous in the national territory. In some regions the number of cases is still high denoting a complex situation but under control. In others the number of cases is very limited. Therefore caution is recommended especially when the movement of people on the national territory should increase in frequency and size.

• There are no signs of overload of hospital care services on the national territory.

• Improved levels of resilience are observed
In the country, testing and screening policies continue to be strengthened at regional level in order to identify the largest number of cases by carrying out isolation and quarantine / monitoring of close contacts (ie by implementing the “test – track – trace” strategy). Although this has increased the sensitivity of the diagnostic assessment, in almost all the Regions and Autonomous Provinces the weekly trend of new cases diagnosed by date of diagnosis / sampling is decreasing and the transmissibility indexes (Rt) are below 1. As regards the estimate of the RT, it is underlined that when the number of cases is very small, some Regions may temporarily have an Rt> 1 due to small local outbreaks which end up affecting the regional total, without this being a worrying element .

• Measures lockdowns in Italy have effectively allowed a control of COVID19 infection on the national territory even in a context of persistent widespread transmission of the virus with a very different incidence in the 21 Regions / PPAA.

• The current situation regarding the start of the first transition phase is overall positive. There are still signs of transmission with new outbreaks reported which describe an epidemiologically fluid situation in many Italian regions. This requires strict compliance with the measures necessary to reduce the risk of transmission such as individual hygiene and physical spacing

• It is necessary to continue strengthening the territorial services for the prevention and response to COVID-19 to face any epidemic upsurge. In order to better illustrate the state of the art in the various Regions, this week we propose, alongside this initial summary that frames the national state, the profile region by region with the usual epidemiological data also enriched by the provincial level, so as to be able to represent to the best
through multiple variables the situation of each regional context. The complete data are available on and
