Crew Dragon, launch moved to Saturday 30 May. Live broadcast from NASA and SpaceX

The wait was great, but the weather forecast was so-so and the launch of the Crew Dragon, the capsule of the SpaceX of Elon Musk. The dream of the United States of being able to launch astronauts again from Cape Canaveral, former theater of the Apollo and Shuttle missions, could materialize at 21.22 Italian time. It is a small expectation, compared to the nine years during which the United States no longer had a means of bringing astronauts into orbit and the Space Shuttle’s departure from the scene had left Russia and its Soyuz the monopoly of flights with men on board. #LaunchAmerica is the hashtag of the mission, called Demo2, and in which the United States sees the beginning of a new era in the space race.

The first institutional channel for direct launches to the International Space Station is that of NASA, with the streams active on the channel YouTube Official; the SpaceX YouTube channel will obviously share a player dedicated to live streaming. Even the relative official social channels of NASA and SpaceX – both Twitter that Facebook – will have direct broadcasts. On TV you can follow the launch of SpaceX on Focus, digital terrestrial channel 35, which will broadcast a special commented in Italian live from the Milan studios, with a schedule scheduled for 22:00. Astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken, both NASA veterans, will now have to return to quarantine. The appointment for them in two days on board the Crew Dragon, ready on the reusable Falcon 9 rocket of SpaceX, on the historic ramp 39 / A from which the Apollo missions directed to the Moon and then those of the Space Shuttle started.

In these weeks of pandemic we journalists, if we do our job with conscience,
we do a public service. This is also why we are proud every day here at
to offer hundreds of new content for free to all citizens: news, exclusive insights,
expert interviews, surveys, videos and much more. All this work, however, has a great economic cost.
Advertising, in a time when the economy is stagnant, offers limited revenues.
Not in line with the access boom. This is why I ask those who read these lines to support us.
To give us a minimum contribution, equal to the price of a cappuccino per week,
                        fundamental for our work.
