Covid, Brazil overtakes Spain by death. South America close to 50 thousand victims – La Stampa


According to the Johns Hopkins University daily count, the United States recorded 1,225 new coronavirus deaths in 24 hours. Thus the total number of deaths in the country rises to over 102,000, by far the most affected by the pandemic. Since the first death of Covid-19 announced in late February, the US has recorded over 1.7 million cases. Experts, including immunologist Anthony Fauci, a White House adviser, nevertheless agree that these official reports are underestimated. And Latin America now has 48,500 deaths and 924,000 cases.

Brazil overtakes Spain
The number of coronavirus deaths in Brazil has risen to 27,878. The latest John Hopkins University update shows that the death toll in Brazil is more serious than in Spain where deaths are 27,121. Contagions in Brazil reached 438,238.

Mexico: 9 thousand victims
In the last 24 hours, the increase in infections (923,878, +45,000) and deaths (48,508, +1,900) from the coronavirus pandemic that is reaching its peak in Latin America has remained very intense. Libya has registered another 13 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 118. The Libyan National Center for Disease Control has announced this on its official Facebook page, stating that the dead remain 5 while the cured are 41. Currently positive people are 72.
