Brazil overtakes Spain
The number of coronavirus deaths in Brazil has risen to 27,878. The latest John Hopkins University update shows that the death toll in Brazil is more serious than in Spain where deaths are 27,121. Contagions in Brazil reached 438,238.
Mexico: 9 thousand victims
In the last 24 hours, the increase in infections (923,878, +45,000) and deaths (48,508, +1,900) from the coronavirus pandemic that is reaching its peak in Latin America has remained very intense. Brazil is followed by Peru where 148,285 (+5,500) of whom contracted Covid-19 are now 4,230 dead, and Chile has 90,638 infected and 944 dead. Among the countries with more than 5,000 cases of Covid-19, Mexico ranks fourth for contagions (81,400) but second for victims (9,044), ahead of Ecuador (38,571 and 3,334), Colombia (26,688 and 853), Dominican Republic (16,531 and 488), Argentina (15,419 and 520), Panama (12,131 and 320) and Bolivia (8,387 and 293).
Libya has registered another 13 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 118. The Libyan National Center for Disease Control has announced this on its official Facebook page, stating that the dead remain 5 while the cured are 41. Currently positive people are 72.
