9.05 am – In Saudi Arabia, mosques reopen


First day of opening after the outbreak of the pandemic for tens of thousands of mosques in Saudi Arabia. However, the faithful will be required to respect strict protocols to avoid infections. The Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem also reopens.

8.55 am – Record deaths in Pakistan

The number of coronavirus deaths in Pakistan in the past 24 hours has risen by 88 to 1,483 while the positive cases have increased by 3,039 reaching a total of 69,496. These are the latest data published by the Ministry of Health, which show a record of deaths and new positive cases in the last 24 hours. In the past 24 hours, 1,140 patients have recovered, bringing the total to 25,271 (36% of patients). At least 522 patients are in critical condition, 26 more than the previous day. The country registered the first Covid-19 case on February 26. In the wake of the recent wave of cases, Pakistan has sanctioned the obligation to wear the mask in crowded public places, in mosques, in bazaars, in shopping malls and on public transport.
