Data on contagions and deaths due to the Covid-19 epidemic in Italy and to rise again the special surveillance regions are still Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria, in a decidedly fragmented Italy, with regions where new cases are counted on the fingertips and others where they are in the order of tens and hundreds. It is a very diversified situation, that of the trend of the epidemic in Italy, just at a time like this, in which “the important data are those relating to the parameters in the various Italian regions in view of the reopening”, observes the physicist Federico Ricci Tersenghi, from the Sapienza University of Rome.

According to the daily civil protection budget I’m 50,966 coronavirus patients in Italy, 1,976 less than the day before, when the drop had been 2,358.

There are 117 coronavirus victims in the past 24 hours, up from the lowest level since the beginning of March reached 78. In Lombardy on the last day 58 were recorded, half of the national figure, while the day before had been 22. The deaths at national level thus rose to 33,072. Eight regions – Marche, Abruzzo, Umbria, Sardinia, Valle d’Aosta, Calabria, Molise, Basilicata – and the Province of Bolzano without new victims.

The new positives in Italy rise again, with a return to the levels of 4 days ago. There are now 231,139 people infected, 584 more. The figure currently includes positives, victims and healed. In Lombardy there are 384 more. The day before the national increase had been 397.

The number of healed and discharged coronaviruses in Italy rose to 147,101, with an increase of 2,443. The increase had been 2,677 on Tuesday.

There are 505 patients admitted to intensive care for Coronavirus, 16 fewer. Of these, 175 are in Lombardy, 8 less. On the other hand, 7,729 patients hospitalized with symptoms, with a drop of 188, while those in home isolation are 42,732, with a drop of 1,772.

The ratio between swabs made in the last 24 hours (67,324) and identified cases (584) is one infection every 115.3 tests, almost 0.87%, on average over the past few days. If repeated swabs are excluded, about 40% on average, the percentage of positives on only new cases tested – as per parameters of the Ministry of Health – rises to 1.6%.
