In a row chained together with garbage bags on the place of the lab coat, but also as a sign of “mourning”. It is the protest of the nurses of the union Nursind that this morning they went down to Piazza Castello, in Turin, in front of the Piedmont Region building, to protest and denounce their working conditions. But also to launch a warning, asking not to forget what they called heroes. Lying on the ground, as if they were corpses in a coffin, the health workers also wanted to remember the beyond 40 dead in their category. “We want to tell what have been these two months, explain the consequences of these two months and ask to keep the promises – explains Francesco Coppolella, secretary of Nursind Piemonte – In March it was a salary increase, in April it was a bonus, to May there is nothing left, they forgot about their heroes. We have been anointers of ourselves, of patients, of our families, dignity has been lost. We wear a lot of garbage to symbolize how they sent us to work, black to honor our victims, the chains because we had no choices. ”

In these weeks of pandemic we journalists, if we do our job with conscience,
we do a public service. This is also why we are proud every day here at ilfattoquotidiano.it
to offer hundreds of new content for free to all citizens: news, exclusive insights,
expert interviews, surveys, videos and much more. All this work, however, has a great economic cost.
Advertising, in a time when the economy is stagnant, offers limited revenues.
Not in line with the access boom. This is why I ask those who read these lines to support us.
To give us a minimum contribution, equal to the price of a cappuccino per week,
                        fundamental for our work.
