PARIS. From June 2nd in France bars, restaurants, parks, sports activities and above all schools will reopen. This was announced by Prime Minister Edouard Philippe declaring that the health situation has improved, only 1.9% of the tests now give a positive result. The red areas are thus eliminated and only the Paris region will remain under observation becoming “orange” together with the two overseas departments of Mayotte and Guyana. This means that the reopening phase, in these areas, “will be a little more prudent than in the rest of the territory”.

France will also reopen its comparisons to other European countries from 15 June without quarantine, while Paris intends to lift the 100 km limit for internal travel from 2 June.

As for schools, Edouard Philippe has announced that they will reopen all until secondary school. The reopening has always been one of the priorities of President Emmanuel Macron and now, two weeks after the first reopenings, it has been decided to reopen all the high schools in the green areas, therefore with the sole exclusion of the Paris region and the departments of Mayotte and Guaiana.

Bars and restaurants will be reopened but it will not be possible to eat “at the counter”, while in Paris and other orange areas it will be possible to serve them only at outdoor tables, the internal premises will remain closed to the public. “We know it is an important limitation – said the French Prime Minister – but it is the best thing to do. The virus is still circulating and we have followed the example of countries that have already reopened. ”
If health data goes better, economic data is still dramatic.
