10.48 – Premier, no positive in the fourth round of tests
The Premier League has confirmed that there have been no positive cases in the fourth round of testing for Covid-19. On Thursday and Friday, a total of 1,130 players and club staff were tested for coronavirus without anyone testing positive. Previously, 12 positive cases had been confirmed by 2,752 tests that started on May 17.
10.22 am – Boxing, the Olympic qualifying tournament in February
The task force, created by the IOC to manage the Tokyo 2020 boxing qualification tournaments, has announced that the European Olympic qualification tournament, suspended due to Covid 19 emergency on March 16, will resume exactly where it was interrupted for all categories of weight. The competition, which will take place between February and March 2021 presumably in London, will see boxers still competing in the ring at the time of the stop. The world tournament, which was supposed to take place in Paris in May, was postponed between May and June 2021.
9.11 am – Golf, Mackenzie Tour season canceled
The Mackenzie Tour season, Canada, which is part of the circuit group managed by the PGA Tour, has been canceled due to the coronavirus emergency. “We are in a climate of great uncertainty and given the restrictions on the border and the mandatory 14-day quarantine for those coming from abroad it would have been objectively impossible to play this summer,” said Scott Pritchard, Executive Director of the tour.
