These are the cases of positivity, which refer not to the province of residence, but to that in which the diagnosis was made: 4,457 a Piacenza (2 more than yesterday), 3,456 a Parma (12 more), 4.922 a Reggio Emilia (3 more), 3,895 a Modena (no extra cases), 4,539 a Bologna (11 more); 392 positivity recorded a Imola (no extra cases), 985 a Ferrara (no more cases). In Romagna cases of positivity reached 4,867 (15 more), of which 1,018 a Ravenna (no extra cases), 941 a Forlì (+1), 774 in Cesena (2 more), 2,134 in Rimini (12 more).
The deaths of May 23, 2020
Unfortunately, 10 new deaths are recorded: 5 men and 5 women. Overall, in Emilia-Romagna they came to 4,047. The new deaths concern 2 residents in the province of Piacenza, 2 in that of Parma, 4 in that of Bologna (none in Imola), 1 in that of Forlì-Cesena (in Forlì territory) and 1 a Rimini. No deaths of residents a Reggio Emilia, Modena, Ferrara is Ravenna.
The other numbers
The people in insulation at home, that is, those with mild symptoms, which do not require hospital treatment, or are symptom-free, total 3,962, -127 compared to yesterday. Patients in intensive care are 84 (-5). Those hospitalized in others also decrease Covid departments (-28).
The people altogether healed therefore they rise to 18,896 (+193): 1,455 “clinically healed”, that is, they have become asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection, and 17451 those declared cured in all respects because they were negative in two consecutive tests.

Extra urgent healthcare activity Covid, latest news
The Regional Councilor for Health Policies, Raffaele Donini, met yesterday with the medical management unions, which ensured full collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region Plan which provides for the restart of non-urgent healthcare activity, after coronavirus, asking at the same time to proceed gradually, taking into account the priorities and urgencies of the services.
Emergency management has strongly proven health professionals and, albeit markedly improved – the Unions underlined during the meeting – the situation linked to the covid it is not completely resolved and still requires the commitment of health workers: it is therefore complex, at this time, to devote simultaneously to other ordinary health activities.
The unions, however, shared with the councilor Donini the need for healthcare companies to define the organizational methods to allow the progressive recovery of non-urgent healthcare activity, also enhancing the planning contribution of the professionals.
Councilor Donini agreed that contractual institutions and the possibility of enjoying summer holidays are guaranteed to healthcare personnel. To this end, the Emilia-Romagna Region will keep the personnel hired for the covid emergency in service for as long as possible.
Redundancy fund in derogation, 49 thousand applications made in Emilia Romagna
Almost 49 thousand applications for layoffs in derogation in Emilia-Romagna. As announced by the Councilor for Economic Development, Vincenzo Colla, the Region has completed the procedure and delivered 100% of the requests received to INPS. Requests involving a total of 157,135 workers from Piacenza to Rimini, for a total of over 36 million hours.
The numbers refer to the questions envisaged by Decree 9 of 2 March 2020 (“Urgent support measures for families, workers and businesses connected to the epidemiological emergency from Covid-19”) and by Decree 18 of 17 March 2020 (“Enhancement measures of the National Health Service and economic support for families, workers and businesses connected to the epidemiological emergency from Covid-19 “).
The possibility remains open, for those who have not used all 13 weeks, to request the remaining weeks from the Region; for those provided for in the Relaunch Decree (5 + 4), the request must be sent directly to INPS.
At the provincial level, it is the metropolitan city of Bologna which sees the largest share of Cassa applications in derogation (12,519), considering all those sent. They follow Modena (7566) e Reggio Emilia (5225).
